Our Tile Calculator helps you quickly estimate tile quantity, area in square feet, and approximate cost for any room, wall, or space. Simply enter the length and width in feet and inches, or directly input the total area in sq.ft. if you already know it. The calculator automatically converts measurements and gives you an accurate estimate in seconds.

After entering the area, select the tile size you plan to use and optionally add an approximate price per square foot based on your budget. Once you click Calculate, the tool instantly shows the estimated area, tiles required, number of boxes, and an estimated total price, making tile planning easy and transparent.

To avoid shortages during installation, the calculator automatically adds 10% extra tiles as a standard wastage allowance. This extra quantity accounts for tile cutting at corners and edges, breakage during fixing, and helps maintain shade and batch consistency if you ever need replacements in the future. Buying extra tiles upfront saves time, cost, and installation delays.

Example: If your room size is 8 ft 7 in × 5 ft 2 in, this converts to 103 inches × 62 inches, which equals 6,386 square inches. Dividing by 144 gives 44.5 sq.ft, and after adding 10% extra, the final requirement becomes approximately 49 sq.ft of tiles.

For applications where running feet (linear measurement) is required—such as skirting tiles, border tiles, trims, or edge finishes—measure the total length to be tiled, convert it into inches, and divide it by the length of one tile or trim piece. For example, 120 inches ÷ 6-inch tile = 20 pieces required. Always measure carefully, round up quantities, and for wall tiling, calculate each wall separately and add them together for the most accurate result.
